Art in the Landscape: What, Where and Why
This programs offers a stimulating look at an important and often neglected element of garden design. Using photographs from her own garden Glen Villa and from private gardens across North America and Europe, Pat challenges our views of what art in the garden is – and what it can be. She examines both practical and artistic issues and stimulates our ideas about how to define and incorporate art into a landscape, regardless of size.

Pat interweaves art, culture, and horticulture to tell the story of a unique landscape. With stories, humour, and personal insights, she explores the effects of incorporating history and personal stories into the landscape. She shares the story of Glen Villa Inn, the grand Victorian summer resort that once stood on her property and inspired her to create The China Terrace, one of the garden "rooms" that make up Glen Villa Gardens. Showing the gardens in every season, she inspires audiences to look at their own landscapes with fresh eyes.
